The Yaschik Library

The new Yaschik Library opened in 2003.  The library uses the Association of Jewish Libraries Weine Classification system to catalogue over 5,300 books. A special Patron computer is set up with immediate access to the collection.    Besides books, the library also loans out videos, book tapes, and magazines.  A large jig-saw puzzle is always "in the works" on a table in the children’s area, and patrons are continually adding 1 or 2 pieces as they visit.  The display cases in the library feature coins from Israel as well as various other Jewish artifacts.  DVD and VCR films are shown on the TV unit in the library.  A carousel projector is also available for check out.  The Yaschik Library is a vibrant KKBE institution regularly used by students and congregants.  It is also a popular venue for  meetings and classes.  Once the doors were opened in May 2003, the adage “build it and they will come . .  ” turned out to be an understatement.  Donations of books are continually being received and processed, and monetary donations to the  Morton Patla Library Fund  has enabled us to continually add to and expand our collection.
