Giving
Founded in 1749, KKBE remains a vibrant Reform Jewish community. To sustain our spiritual core and our historic campus, we invite friends and congregants to join in our philanthropic efforts. There are a number of ways listed below to participate and we thank you for your interest.
- Endowment Initiative: 5-1-1 Campaign
- Mitzvah Membership Program
- Annual Giving / Events
- Planned Giving
KKBE accepts checks, credit cards, gifts of appreciated securities, distributions from retirement accounts, and legacy gifts.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities
To make a gift of stock, call your broker with instructions regarding the amount of the gift, type of stock and the number of shares. Please ask your broker to call the KKBE Executive Director (843-723-1090) to alert him/her to the gift and for instructions about transferring shares directly into one of our accounts.
Distributions from IRA’s and other retirement accounts
Certain donors may see tax advantages by directing annual Required Minimum Distributions directly to KKBE. After consulting with your tax advisor, if this is something you decide to do, please notify the Executive Director as to the amount and the source of the check.
Legacy Gifts
Legacy gifts include bequests, life income gifts, life insurance, charitable lead trusts and gifts of property and real estate. All planned giving donors are celebrated by membership in the Society of 1749. Recognition is given to this special group during the High Holy Days and at an annual service to thank and to show our gratitude for legacy gifts. Legacy gifts are not counted in campaign totals until realized.
