The Lowcountry Nosh: Charleston Jewish Food & Heritage Festival was held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from NOON – 4 pm to coincide with 2nd Sunday on King Street.

This festive event featured a variety of traditional Jewish foods such as corned beef, chopped liver, “imported” bagels, knishes, rolled cabbage prepared by the Temple Sisterhood and irresistible Jewish sweets and treats. Activities for children, tours of KKBE’s historic property and live entertainment was also be provided. An outdoor stage featured a mix of local artists.

Founded in 1749, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim has been a part of the Charleston fabric for over 268 years. KKBE’s original sanctuary was destroyed by the great fire of 1838. The current sanctuary built in 1840 is considered one of the finest examples of Greek                                                                       revival architecture.
