Worship

We offer a variety of religious services which appeal to different age groups and varying styles of worship. We primarily worship with Mishkan T'filah as well as Visual T'filah, and other liturgical publications of American Reform Judaism.

For worship services only, free parking is available at the Charleston Place parking garage across the street from our historic temple. Bring your parking ticket to the worship service to be validated.

Shabbat Services

Come join the KKBE family as we worship together! Most Friday evening Shabbat service begins at 8 pm. On the first Friday of each month we have our Congregational Dinner at 5:30 pm (reservations required) followed by our First Friday Shabbat Service at 7pm. On the last Friday of the summer months (May-August), services begin at 6pm, preceded by appetizers in our courtyard.

Our Saturday Shabbat Morning Service starts at 10 AM. On the second Saturday of each month we have Tot Shabbat for families with children up to 8 yrs old at 10 am in the Freudenberg Board Room.

Congregants and friends of our congregation are welcome to sponsor bimah flowers, the Shabbat evening oneg or a Shabbat morning kiddush lunch to commemorate a special event or person. To do so, please contact Grace of Irene at 843-723-1090.

PLEASE NOTE: Service times are subject to change.

Family Services

Come worship with us - and bring the whole family! Children are encouraged to attend all of our worship services. We especially encourage families with children to join us on the First Friday of each month when the service begins a little earlier (7pm), features Visual T'filah, and the music engages congregants of all ages. (Note: Babysitting is always offered at these services as well!) Shabbat evening services are followed by an Oneg Shabbat. Discussions, films, or musical presentations are sometimes offered after evening Shabbat services.

Services in the Community

Periodically we leave our historic hub at 90 Hasell Street and hold Shabbat Services out and about in the community. We have dipped our toes in the water in Kiawah, enjoyed Summerville's Sweet Tea hospitality, and have hosted Shabbat Around Town Services throughout the year.
